My name is Stephanie and I am a senior English major with secondary certification and a minor in music. I will be graduating in Ma. I have a passion for teaching all aspects of English, language arts, reading, writing, and literature and I love to share it with others. My emphasis in my English major was in literature because I love stories and discovering new perspectives because of them. However, I also have a deep interest in writing and in the English language in general. The power of words fascinates me and I enjoy sharing the importance of language and communication with students. I was a student teacher for 14 weeks where I taught 8th grade English and reading, and 9-12 English. It was a wonderful experience and I loved getting to know my students and learning how to apply what I learned in the classroom to what I actually did in the field. Previously I had been a sub at several schools, but spending more time with students allowed me to be able to get to know them better and teach them more specifically what they needed. I also have 3 years experience being a tutor at the writing lab at my university, Southwestern Adventist University. At The Write Spot I edited papers from several different majors and at varying degrees of advancement. It was very fulfilling and I really enjoyed helping students of all kinds improve their papers. Thank you for your consideration as a tutor.
