I have been tutoring for the past three years at University of Massachusetts Lowell freshman Chemistry and calculus so I know how to simplify topics for students who have trouble understanding the concepts behind these particular topics. I have also been tutoring Pre-Algebra and Trigonometry to high school and elementary school students. One of my students said,"Patience makes Calculus fun to learn, I have never had poor grades ever since my mother found Ms. Patience." I believe that learning is not about reading the entire textbook and going to class but it continues with getting the right tutor who can emphasize the concepts. Tutoring has always been my passion because I get a chance to broaden a student's understanding through emphasizing the main concepts; and encouraging them to apply in their daily lives because by so doing, they will not forget what they have learned. This makes them more outstanding than any other student in their class. To emphasize concepts, I give them assignments to work on while we are together, and take home assignments. Also, I give them pop quizzes on the previous topic before they learn any new topic. This keeps them alert and up for work.
